NCSC training is open to workers, union members, workplace representatives and officials of our affiliate unions across Somalia. Some courses are open to anyone with an interest in workers' rights; a few workshops are reserved for members of a particular union or committee, and this is stated on the course or workshop page.
NCSC's online courses are free. Where a physical training, workshop or seminar has a cost — for example to cover venue or materials — the price is shown on the page for that session before you register.
Courses are delivered in Somali or English. The language of each course is shown on the course page and can be used as a filter in the course catalogue.
A course is lesson-based learning you work through at your own pace or in a blended format, and it leads to a certificate. A workshop is a short, hands-on training session on a fixed date, usually in person. An event is a conference, seminar, meeting or campaign that you attend rather than study.
Create a free account, open the course you want and select Enrol. The course then appears under My Courses in your dashboard, where you can work through the lessons and track your progress.
Each lesson you finish is marked complete in your dashboard, and your course progress percentage updates immediately. You can leave and return at any time — the platform reopens the course at the lesson you last worked on.
For online courses, your certificate is issued automatically as soon as you complete every lesson. For workshops and physical training, NCSC issues your certificate once your attendance and completion are confirmed. Certificates appear under Certificates in your dashboard, where you can view, print or save them as a PDF.
Every NCSC certificate carries a unique certificate number and a QR code. Scanning the code, or entering the number on the Verify a Certificate page, opens a verification record showing the certificate number, the holder's name, the course completed, the issue date and whether the certificate is still valid. No other personal information is published.
